Man, anyone would think that we live in a cold country or something. Levi is doing swim lessons still this week (his last week of 2 that he had in total). Last week we had a few days with temperatures in the 30′s (30C+) so whilst the pool felt a little cool (it is heated) the outside temperature made it a little more tolerable.
Today, however, it was 22C, & if we were in Oz, we certainly wouldn’t be swimming, but we are in Canada & today was just an average summer day for most. We paid up front for the classes, so if we don’t attend, there aren’t any refunds & I don’t want Levi to miss out on classes just because I am a bit hesitant about the temperature, he does enjoy playing with the other kids after all.
At 22C though, even with the pool being heated (maybe about 25C) it was, indeed, cold. Levi spent most of his time shivering in the pool (I tried to keep as much of him under water as possible) & even trying to warm him up under a warm shower, didn’t really work, nor rubbing him in 2 layers of towels after I took his wet swimmers off. I did at least pack some warmer clothes to put him into that seemed to help, as well as getting into a car that had been warmed up from being parked in the sun (not hot, just warm).
Levi loves the water though, especially splashing about, it’s really quite cute. He has a little buddy called William whom he loves to play with & William loves playing with him too (William would be around 2, at a guess). I will have to remember to get William’s mums details before the last class, so that we can keep in touch & hopefully organise a play date. He has a little brother, called Hudson, who is 4 months old too, so that’s another little guy closer to his age to play with too.
